Over 30 runners took to the roads around Clapton on a bright sunny Sunday morning, not a good idea to wear studs Chris (you should have listened to the brief, say's Andy!) very painful on my poor old legs and feet, never mind! I managed to get round without getting lost. I should have realized it was going to be flat and fast watching Lin disappear of into the distance and beat me by a couple of minutes. New to the event was two different distances 5 mile & 3 mile off course I opted to do the 5 mile to my regret; I think I need to start putting in some mileage. Oh and I enjoyed the muddy track all half mile of it and not a stile in sight.
Nice to see some new faces Bev, Steph, Nigel & there friends sorry I don't know there names, also Nick Stevens who has just recently returned to the club after a spell away. Also it was great to see a few young faces Wooster's daughter and Adrian's son taking part and doing really well, perhaps we could get more of the club juniors out. Oh and not forgetting the late comers, car wouldn't start! What a feeble excuse, you were hoping it was all over, well done Joy & Deanne.
With muddy bodies and aching limbs we retired to the bar for the prize giving, Bev walked away with 1st prize, she just can't stop winning trophies or prizes, Claire took 2nd prize and Nick 3rd, nothing for Ian this time, as he thinks his running has got so bad, he estimated 39mins for 3mile, never mind Ian it can only get better. Thanks again to Andy and Lin for organising another good event and lets see more club members come along, the wobblers are the best events in the club calendar.
